Kappa Alpha Order

The Order returns to UT-Arlington!

Kappa Alpha Order at University of Texas-Arlington has officially returned to restore Delta Iota Chapter. KA has a cherished tradition at UTA, and we look forward to a continuation of this tradition by building the absolute best chapter possible. Staff from the National Administrative Office have been on campus now for nearly a month recruiting the top leaders, scholars, and gentlemen on campus. The chapter at University of Texas-Arlington is officially recognized as a Provisional Chapter of Kappa Alpha Order. To ensure the success of this and any chapter, there must be support from the University, the National Administrative Office, and alumni like you. Here are a few ways you can help out.

Check out these pictures from the Induction Ceremony where twenty new men joined KA and UTA Provisional Chapter was created.

Here are just a FEW ways you can help!

Volunteer your time and skills – The skills you have acquired over the years can be very useful to the men looking to restore the Active Chapter and beyond, and it is our obligation as alumni to continue KA’s tradition of excellence by bettering the leaders of tomorrow, so why not better your own brothers? You could help with housing, present or attend a chapter meeting, or even mentor a chapter officer!

Housing – Area alumni will soon be starting a capital campaign to raise money to build a new house. If you have any experience with such an undertaking, would like to donate, or want to be involved, let us know!

Be a guest presenter at chapter meeting (or just attend!) – Chapter members love to see their alumni, and love even more to learn something from them. Give a short presentation at a chapter meeting about what you do professionally and relate it to your KA experience. Contact Andrew Carr at acarr@ka-order.org.

Mentor an Officer – Are you an accountant? Why not mentor the Number VI! Lawyer, mentor the Number VII! Use your professional experiences to better the your brothers and future leaders. Contact Gary Harnist at harnist@aol.com.

Get involved with the Alumni Association – Get back involved with the Alumni Association! The Arlington Texas Alumni Association is looking to start holding events such as meet-and-greet events, cookouts with the new chapter and many family outings to keep your KA spirit thriving. For more information, contact Alumni Association President, Gary Harnist at harnist@aol.com.

The Loyal Order and Forever KAJoin The Loyal Order and receive The Kappa Alpha Journal for life or become Forever KA, also joining the Loyal Order in the process, and help establish a chapter endowment account for Delta Iota through monthly giving program. The $18.65 per month you donate (after your Loyal Order membership is paid) is split between the Order, KAOEF, and a chapter endowment account. There is strength in numbers and if enough Delta Iota brothers become Forever KA, the chapter will ahve a permanent fund to send brothers to programs, conferences, and other educational opportunities.
