brothers in service
Kappa Alpha Journal | 3/1/2003

LtCol. Lee B. Ragland (Nu '78 -Auburn), who was featured in the Spring 2002 Kappa Alpha Journal in "Freedom's Pilot" is now stationed in Okinawa, Japan, serving a three year tour.

Two months after moving to the orient, Ragland made an interesting discovery. His boss, Commanding Officer Richard Wayne Lueking (pictured below, left), is also a KA brother and hails from Midwestern University (now Midwestern State Univ.) initiated at Gamma Omega's chapter in 1973. Ragland and Lueking were at a social function one night when Lueking noticed the KA letters on Ragland's class ring.

The two then shared their KA histories..."small world...[I] come all the way to Okinawa and my boss is a brother!" said Ragland.
