Fribley: true friend, brave knight, faithful unto deathDavid Fribley (Zeta Iota - Indiana State ‘96 ) was one of nine Marines killed in a rocket-propelled grenade attack near An Nasiriyah when Iraqi troops faked a surrender. He was a member of the 1st Battalion, 2nd Marine Expeditionary Brigade from Camp Lejeune, N. C.
History: the present for one KA“I have benefited from being exposed to the mindset of a true gentleman,” said Jones. “I have Lee’s ‘definition of a gentleman’ framed in my apartment as a constant reminder of what being a KA is about.”
Home Sweet Home?In 1991, Steven Russell, then editor, wrote a Journal article that chronicled the completion of a 30 year search for a home for Kappa Alpha. The article said “. . . the Kappa Alpha Order has finally found a permanent home in its birthplace of Lexington, Va.” Well, as the philosopher Heraclitus said, “There is nothing permanent except change.”

You Are FreeDavid S. Suarez (Zeta Eta - Penn State ‘96) wrote several pieces about his hiking and climbing experiences and what they meant to him. In this poem, he uses climbing as a metaphor for life and freedom. David was an employee of Deloitte Consulting on the 99th floor of the North Tower of the World Trade Center in New York, N. Y. He died September 11, 2001.
