An amazing experience Todd Shelton | 9/23/2003 Thirty Crusade Commanders came together July 11-15, 2003, from around the country for an intensive educational conference called The Crusade RoundTable. The RoundTable took place in Lexington, Va., at the Alpha Chapter house. The RoundTable, which is alcohol-free, is designed to train Crusade Commanders to educate their chapter on the four-year total membership development program, The Crusade. The experience brings participants together to learn ideas and ways to help improve their chapter program from the national staff and from each other. The program is centered on team building, community service, ritual, leadership, and career based skills.
One of the exciting experiences for those in attendance was the ability to interact with the Order’s leaders. Former Knight Commander David M. Warren charged the Crusade Commanders to implement the knowledge and ideas that they gained from their RoundTable experience and to continue improving their chapter’s efforts with the program. Knight Commander Ben W. Satcher, Jr. was also in attendance and addressed the commanders about the history and importance of the Crusade program.
