Camp offers KA brothers an opportunity to help Todd Shelton | 11/19/2003 “Boggy Creek is the cornerstone of our community service efforts.” - Zeta Lambda ChapterCamp Boggy Creek enriches the lives of campers by creating camping experiences that are empowering, fun, and life-expanding. The children served, ages seven to sixteen, have illnesses such as cancer, asthma, heart disease, and HIV/AIDS. All campers attend Boggy Creek free of charge.
Camp Boggy Creek needs energetic and creative summer camp staff to help campers have the time of their lives from May 16 to August 19. Staff members (at least nineteen years old) will be paid to play with kids at this unique state-of-the-art camp, located near Orlando, Florida. Whether you are a cabin counselor, lifeguard, ropes course specialist, or nature barn staff, you will have the opportunity to make the difference in the lives of children who have chronic and life-threatening illnesses. This one-of-a-kind experience involves living and working at the camp during nine summer sessions. Room and board are provided, as well as a significant stipend.
To work at Boggy Creek, no camping experience or medical background is necessary, but applicants should have a strong desire to work hard and play with kids. This is not your typical camping experience. All of the buildings are air-conditioned, and the facilities include a medical center, ropes course, theater, nature center, dining hall, recreation center, computer lab, and heated pool.
During time off between camp sessions, staff members can visit nearby Daytona Beach and Disney World.
For people who are not able to spend the entire summer at the camp, one-week volunteer opportunities are available.
