Kappa Alpha Order received five awards at the 2004 College Fraternity Editors Association (CFEA) Annual Awards Banquet held in early June in Chicago. Over 500 entries were submitted in 20 categories this year by CFEA member fraternities and sororities.
Kappa Alpha Order received first place for the national website. The award honors outstanding efforts in presenting materials in a website. Criteria included excellence in overall content, timeliness and accessibility, and innovation in presentation and organization of materials.
In addition, the Loyal Order campaign received third place for the Banta Total Communications Award. This award honors the best communications program by an organization directed to members and/or an outside audience for a single purpose, such as a membership campaign, convention, or other effort.
KA also received the following awards: third place (manual or handbook) for The Varlet/11th Edition; third place (innovative handling of routine materials) for The Kappa Alpha Journal; and honorable mention (annual report) for the Annual Report of the Kappa Alpha Order Educational Foundation.
