On behalf of the Executive Council, Dink Warren, Former Knight Commander presented the Accolade for Interfraternal Service during the Tau banquet to Dr. Kenneth A. Zick, Vice President for Student Life & Instructional Resources and Professor of Law at Wake Forest University School of Law. Dr. Zick is a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity.
“Ken, your contributions to the Greek system and to KA, in particular, enable young men and women to have the positive experience that comes from fraternity life,” said Warren. “For these contributions, KA is extremely grateful.”
He has been instrumental in developing student leadership programs on campus and volunteer service learning programs. Twice, he has been selected to receive the Wake Forest Student Government Association’s “Administrator of the Year.”
Also recognized that evening with the Accolade for Interfraternal Service was Harold R. Holmes, Associate Vice President and Dean of Student Services at Wake Forest University.
“Dean Holmes and his staff have provided outstanding resources to the Wake Forest Provisional Chapter during its rechartering process,” Warren said. “We would not be at this point if it were not for his able assistance.”
Dean Holmes is an initiate of Omega Psi Phi fraternity.
Welcoming new staff
Lane Allen was recently named as Director of Properties for the Fraternity Housing Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Kappa Alpha Order, and for Delta Delta Delta National House Corporation. Based out of Tri Delta’s Executive Office in Arlington, Texas, he will provide assistance on housing issues for both fraternities. Lane is originally from Tyler, Texas, and a graduate of Texas A&M University. He is a member of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity.
Chadwick McFarland was recently named Western Regional Advisor. Chadwick, who served as an Educational and Leadership Consultant during the 2003-2004 school year, is a former Number I and Number VI at Epsilon Tau Chapter at Northern Arizona University.
Eric Showalter is the newest Educational and Leadership Consultant. He is a native of Shreveport, La. He was on the Dean’s List at Louisiana Tech and graduated with a degree in marketing. He is a former Number IV, III, rush and scholarship chairman. He served three years on the IFC, including a term as treasurer.

DoC resignation
Todd Shelton has accepted a senior level position with Accent Media, a print and web marketing firm in Nashville, Tennessee. He will be leaving his post as Director of Communications effective January 16, 2004.
“He has been a valuable member of our team, and will continue to provide assistance with various communications projects including the Kappa Alpha Journal during a transitional period,” said Larry S. Wiese, executive director.
“We appreciate his award winning work for Kappa Alpha Order,” said Wiese. “We wish him the best in his new endeavors.”
