Omicron ’63 • University of Texas • Born: September 20, 1943

A College Football Hall of Fame guard/linebacker, Nobis won the 1965 Outland and Maxwell trophies, which go to the best interior lineman and best player in college football, respectively. While with the Longhorns Nobis averaged nearly twenty tackles per game. He played eleven NFL seasons with the Atlanta Falcons, earning four Pro-Bowl appearances.

The Skinny:

  • Was the first player ever drafted by the Atlanta Falcons, going number one in 1965
  • Was the only sophomore starter on the 1963 Texas Longhorn National Championship team
  • Named Rookie of the Year for 1965
