Re: Issuance of Provisional Certificate at University of Tennessee-Knoxville
By approval of the Advisory Council, Richard T. Feller Province Commander Jim Lawson presented the Kappa Alpha Order Provisional Certificate to the men at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville on November 17, 2006. Members of sororities, friends, the Fraternity Affairs Advisor, and Associate Dean all attended the inception ceremony. The proceedings were held in the University Center on campus.
Province Commander Lawson, assisted by the Alumnus Advisor and Clint Cummins from the national staff performed the recent installation for our newest provisional chapter. The men were inducted as members awaiting initiation and the first officers were installed. The body of thirty-one new members that were recruited, selected and educated prior to the ceremony, is composed of men from all over Tennessee and other states. From freshmen to seniors, the new chapter is evenly balanced for future stability and growth. Support from the University is strong and the reception by the rest of the greek system has been positive.
The new University of Tennessee-Knoxville Provisional Chapter has now undertaken the work of becoming an active chapter. Members of the Alumni Advisory Committee will assist them in this endeavor as well as after re-chartering. This process includes education about Kappa Alpha Order and its history, as well as creating a properly running active chapter from the ground up. Aside from their formal initiation, they are now our brothers.
Please join with me as we welcome these new brothers into our Order. If you would like to send them a congratulatory note or suggestion, please send them to the Number I, Adam Rowan, at the temporary chapter address:
