Re: Issuance of Provisional Certificate at University of North Texas
By approval of the Advisory Council, Senior Councilor J. Michael Duncan presented the Kappa Alpha Order Provisional Certificate to the men at the University of North Texas on February 2, 2007. Friends, the Associate Dean, IFC advisor, Greek Graduate Assistant, and close to forty-five alumni all attended the inception ceremony. The proceedings were held in the Goolsby Chapel on campus.
Province Commander Fred Diaz, assisted by the Senior Councilor Duncan and AAC Chairman Blake Benney performed the recent ceremony for our newest provisional chapter. The men were inducted as members awaiting initiation and the first officers were installed. The new chapter is composed of new students, legacies, and transfer initiates. The 15-man Alumni Advisory Committee and the Gamma Lambda Housing Corporation were among those involved in the process as well as present at the ceremony.
The new University of North Texas Provisional Chapter has now undertaken the work of becoming an active chapter. The culmination of work will result in the restoration of Gamma Lambda chapter. Members of the Alumni Advisory Committee will assist them in this endeavor as well as after re-chartering. This process includes education about Kappa Alpha Order and its history, as well as creating a properly running active chapter from the ground up. Aside from their formal initiation, they are now our brothers.
