Congratulations!  We wish you the best of luck in the very rewarding endeavor of starting a new chapter of Kappa Alpha Order.  You made a very wise choice.  We cannot think of a more rewarding experience during your collegiate years than to bring a new organization to campus - particularly one as prestigious as Kappa Alpha Order.

Kappa Alpha Order takes great pride in its expansion program.  Our alumni and staff are committed to providing the time and effort necessary to build a quality chapter that is an asset to the Order, the institution and the community.  Our process of creating a solid foundation combined with our emphasis on scholarship, ethical leadership, community awareness, development of character, responsibility and gentlemanly conduct have paved the way for positive, long-term contributions from our new chapters.  Our philosophy dictates that a provisional chapter must be able to compete with any chapter in the nation by the time it is granted a charter.

The Kappa Alpha Order National Administrative Office gives direction and assistance to our provisional chapters through written communication, bi-weekly telephone conversations and on-site consultations.  In addition, there are local alumni who will be assisting the chapter via the Alumni Advisory Committee.  Unfortunately, it is impossible to have staff or a volunteer alumnus with the chapter at all times.  Therefore, The Apprentice and this webpage are designed to give direction and guidance during the provisional chapter period and to outline the requirements necessary to achieve your ultimate goal - to be chartered as an active chapter of Kappa Alpha Order.

In order to build a quality chapter infrastructure, it is important that these resources be used in conjunction with The Varlet and our operational manuals and guides that were given to you.  These publications provide examples of how to organize your chapter, write chapter bylaws, form committees, and set goals.  They will be an invaluable aid to you as you build the foundations of your new chapter.  Please remember to consult and use to your advantage the many written and other forms of resources.
