Why should your chapter take the time to submit an application?
Imagine being able to say that your chapter is a Marshall or Ammen award winning chapter! These awards are sought after by many undergraduate chapters in the Order every year. However, as important as being recognized for one’s hard work, it is important for your chapter to set goals and improve operations of the chapter. The application should be viewed as an annual report of your chapter’s progress. It is the duty of the officers to follow through and submit this application that represents all of their hard work completed this year.
Why is the application due November 1st?
The past few years the awards application was due over Christmas break. After polling many Number I's, we found that during the transition period of officer elections, that take place from November 1 - December 1, the outgoing Number I turned over the application to the new Number I. It was difficult and overwhelming for the new Number I to compile the application which resulted in not attempting to complete the application. The November 1st deadline allows our current officers to work together and compile the application that reflects their chapter's recent efforts.
Award applications must be postmarked by November 1st!
