9th Annual Crusade RoundTable
July 30 - August 2, 2009
The Kappa Alpha Order National Administrative Office is looking forward to hosting the 9th Annual Crusade RoundTable in Lexington, Virginia. The four-day program is designed to educate and motivate Crusade Commanders to ensure success of the program for your chapter. Conducted in similar fashion to the actual Crusade program, The RoundTable provides an opportunity for brothers from around the country to live through a well-executed Crusade experience with the help of the national staff.
What to Expect?
RoundTable is an alcohol-free conference and educational programs are scheduled throughout the days and evenings of the four-day program. Please come with a strong work ethic. You will invest time and energy during this experience. You will also have the opportunity to meet over 50 Kappa Alpha brothers from across the nation. This will be an unbelievable experience. By the time you leave, RoundTable participants will look and feel like an actual Kappa Alpha chapter.
Registration Fee:
Due to the unfortunate rising costs associated with travel, The Crusade RoundTable will require a $150 registration fee to help offset this cost. If members are interested in staying for the Stewards of the Order, there will be no additional registration fee. The Order will cover additional transportation costs, lodging, and meals. Participants are required to cover any meals and incidental expenses (parking, etc.) while traveling.
Plane Ticket Policy:
If a participant fails to show once after a “seat” confirmation letter has been issued by the National Administrative Office, the chapter will be charged for that ticket. Once a ticket has been purchased and a participant wants to make changes, he will be responsible for contacting Canyon Creek Travel to purchase the differences. If a participant fails to register by the June 1st deadline, the chapter will have to reimburse the National Administrative Office the difference of the plane ticket from the price of the ticket on June 1st and the date of the late registration.
Attendance:
Any Crusade chapter that fails to send a representative or cancels within 21 days of the Crusade RoundTable will be charged the average cost per individual plus travel (ie. air transportation). The chapter can send an alternate. We suggest any of the phase commanders or the Number I, II, or Number IX.
Alcohol and Drugs:
The RoundTable will provide an alcohol and drug-free educational program and environment. All participants, regardless of age, are not to bring or puchase alcohol during the program. If this rule is broken, the participant will be sent home and charged a registration fee. We are guests of Washington & Lee University and we need to conduct ourselves as gentleman at all times.
Attire:
All sessions will be KA Casual - shorts and shirts are acceptable. Hats are not acceptable during educational sessions. You will need to bring some old work clothes for our annual community service event and gym clothes for recreational activity. The closing session will require dress pants, a collared shirt, and dress shoes.
What to Bring:
The participants will be asked to bring last year’s Crusade Action Plan, list of crusade committee members, and a list of notable past year achievements from the chapter.
