Doug Ewalt continues to serve as the Commander of the James Ward Wood Province, encompassing the Active and Alumni Chapters in Maryland, District of Columbia, Delaware and New Jersey. As such, Doug is currently the senior most province commander in the Order. He has served as the Registrar (1991-2000) and Preceptor (1997-2000) of the James Ward Wood Court of Honor, the Orders first and oldest Court.Doug has two children, Douglas vonRenner Ewalt (BΩ – Washington Coll. ’00) and a daughter who is 28. His father George Walther Ewalt (AΛ – Johns Hopkins ‘ 25) and son are both Kappa Alphas, along with other family members, a tradition that he holds most dear.
Douglas S. Ewalt is the Senior Vice President and Area Executive for Commercial Real Estate in the Baltimore Region, for Branch Banking and Trust Co., a position he has held since 1997. Since that time, he has also remained a member of the Maryland Home Builders Association. He is extremely active in the community and within various organizations, holding officer posts in many. Highlights of his associations and volunteer efforts include the roles of: the Past President and Director of The Southern Maryland Society; member of the Center Club, Baltimore; member of the Maryland Club, Baltimore; member of the South River Club, Annapolis; Director and member of the Calvert County Historical Society; Director and member of the Calvert Marine Museum.
