2013 FCA Awards & Lyons elected to Board of Directors

At the 2013 Annual Conference of the Fraternity Communications Association (FCA), Kappa Alpha Order was recognized with six (6) major awards for our efforts in communications and for the Kappa Alpha Journal, including being named the overall second best magazine in the social and professional Greek community for 2012.

Also at the same 2013 Annual Conference, Director of Communications and Editor of The Kappa Alpha Journal, Jesse S. Lyons (Delta Alpha – Western Carolina ’98), was slated and elected as the Association’s 2013-2014 Vice President of Operations. He iscompleting his second year in his first term on FCA’s Board of Directors.
Our recognition for our communications and Journal success are a direct result of the hard work in and support given to these areas of operations. We thank Jesse, as well as The Journal’s Creative Director, Bruce Tria of Tria Designs, along with our team at Aria Agency, our web design company.

For all issues in 2012
FCA has over 60 member organizations and provides outstanding networking, educational, and recognition opportunities for its members. This year, FCA received 729 entries in four main categories and for 29 separate awards. Thirty-three different organizations were recognized. Over 40 judges, including professionals in their fields and even a design class, reviewed the submissions.
Additionally, we continue to encourage membership in The Loyal Order as a way to strengthen The Kappa Alpha Journal. Please consider joining if you have not yet done so.
