Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas on Saturday, September 18th, 2014. The Knight Commander’s Accolade is the highest individual honor an alumnus can receive.
Daniel T. Patton graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University in 1977. In the chapter, he was a officer in his new member class, served two terms as Number VIII, and was the KA representative on the Interfraternity Council.
He joined the Delta Kappa Housing Foundation board at its re-inception in 2008. For his support of the chapter, province, and Order, in 2009 he was inducted into the William Archibald Walsh Province Court of Honor. He became President of the Housing Foundation in June 2012 and continued in that role for over two years. He served as the major fundraiser on the capital campaign, which led to the new house.
Following graduation, he worked for Nacogdoches Coca-Cola for a year. He then moved to Corpus Christi as district sales representative for the Lone Star Brewery. In 1981, he accepted the job of General Manager of the Lone Star beer distributorship in Austin. The distributorship was sold in 1983 to the owner of the Miller Beer Distributorship, Lowell Lebermann (Omicron – Texas ’58). Dan still works there today as the Vice President of Chain Account Sales for what is now called Keg One.
In 1977, he married Ann Renfro, a Delta Zeta alumnae from SFA. They have two daughters: Amy Elizabeth and Rita Kay.
