Alpha Chapter Advisor Recognized
Katy Datz, a long time advisor for the Alpha chapter at Washington & Lee University was recognized for her service to Alpha Chapter and to the Order. Commander of Samuel Zenas Ammen Province, Carlton Baker, and Director of Leadership Education, Dustin Brann, presented the Certificate of Service to Datz at the 2015 Ammen, Hamilton & Wood Province Council on Saturday, March 28th at the Natural Bridge Hotel in Natural Bridge, Virginia.
After growing up in Lexington, Katy Datz graduated from Roanoke College in 2005. Katy began her career in fundraising and alumni relations in private liberal arts colleges beginning at Hampden Sydney College and at Roanoke College. In 2009, Katy accepted a position at the Rockbridge Area Free Clinic in Lexington. As part of her role of Development Director, Katy worked closely with volunteers and began to develop a relationship with the volunteers of the Alpha Chapter of Kappa Alpha Order. Katy has continued to be involved as a community advisor for Alpha Chapter, engaging the members with what is now known as the Rockbridge Area Health Center.
Katy has two Lexington Local Legends for parents, Burr and Linda Datz. Katy has a love for boxers, where she personally has two, Dexter and Ryeley.
