5 Ways Your Chapter Could Benefit from Emerging Leaders Academy
Summer is upon us, and while some of your chapter brothers may be rushing home to see their families, diving into more books for summer classes or just lounging by the pool, there are still some great opportunities this summer for KA undergraduate members. Emerging Leaders Academy, Stewards of the Order, and Crusade RoundTable are all taking place in mid June, and here are 5 reasons why your chapter should have some members attend.
1. Strengthen your Passion by Visiting the Birthplace of KA
Emerging Leaders Academy takes place at Washington & Lee University and Virginia Military Institute in Lexington, Virginia. Strengthen your passion for KA by walking in the footsteps of our early members, tour the National Administrative Office, and visit the graves of our Founding Fathers.
2. Gain a Deeper Understanding of KA’s Ritual
By attending Stewards of the Order, you will attend an intense, eight hour program that focuses on the symbolism and philosophy of the ritual, and production of the initiation ceremony. You will leave with a better understanding of the Order’s ritual and become a certified Steward of the Order with
3. Learn from “the Pros”
Gain knowledge from several expert professionals on a wide variety of topics. Watch Jeff Martini, Owner of Martini Media Solutions, explain how undergraduates can create videos, perfect for recruitment, alumni relations, or event promotion, that look professional, but with little to no budget.
4. Meet Brothers from Across the Country
Hundreds of KAs attend ELA from nearly 100 chapters. Meet KAs from Washington, Florida, California, Missouri and more. Hear how other chapters fundraise for MDA, recruit new members or deal with common problems like apathy in the Mock Chapter setting.
5. Take a Photo with the Knight Commander
Knight Commander Darren S. Kay and other national volunteers will be in attendance at various events including the annual Founders’ Dinner at which you will hear the Knight Commander speak on his vision for the Order. You won’t want to miss out.
