Robert G. Brinkmann Receives Knight Commander’s Accolade
Knight Commander William E. Dreyer (Alpha Delta – William Jewell) conferred on Robert G. Brinkmann (Beta Alpha – Missouri S&T ’68) the Knight Commander’s Accolade, the highest individual honor an alumnus can receive, on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at the Knight Commander’s Accolade and Sesquicentennial Donor Reception during the Sesquicentennial Celebration and 76th Convention at the Hotel Roanoke in Roanoke, Virginia.
Robert G. Brinkmann enrolled at the University of Missouri-Rolla (later renamed Missouri University of Science & Technology) in 1967 with the hopes of becoming an engineer, and he was initiated by the Beta Alpha chapter of Kappa Alpha Order in 1968. In 1971 he graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering. He also received a Professional Degree of Civil Engineering in 2001.
In 1984, Robert Brinkmann founded Brinkmann Constructors. He still serves as CEO. He has over 43 years of construction industry experience in key executive, project management, and engineering roles. His knowledge and experience in the business has expanded the company from a local firm performing $350,000 in annual volume to a national design/build firm with an annual volume of more than $300 million.
Robert is the President of the Missouri University of Science & Technology Board of Trustees, and also serves on several other boards including the Students Educational & Loan Foundation, the housing corporation for Beta Alpha. His vision, financial contributions, and leadership influence were critical to the success of the recent chapter house renovation.
Robert is married to the woman of his dreams, Kim Brinkmann. They have three dogs: Boone, George Burns and Gracie Allen.
