Live Auction Items at 20th Annual Bid for Brotherhood
The Kappa Alpha Order Educational Foundation’s (KAOEF) 20th Annual Bid for Brotherhood (B4B) will be held at Busch Stadium in St. Louis, Missouri, on Friday, August 4, 2017. This year’s B4B will feature silent auction of KA and other various items, live auction of larger items including vacations and tickets sporting events, and Last KA Standing, a chance to win a Yeti cooler. In addition, stadium tours, batting practice, and photos on the field will be available to attendees, as well as a special meet and greet visit from Baseball Hall of Fame member, Ozzie “the Wizard” Smith.
B4B began in 1998 in Kansas City, Missouri. Started by then Knight Commander James R. Estes, B4B serves to combine an alumni event with a meaningful fundraising activity to establish an endowment for KA’s valuable leadership and educational programs. By providing a grant the Order annually, the costs associated with providing outstanding educational opportunities are minimal to our undergraduate members. The eventual goal is to have all of KA’s programs available to every undergraduate KA at zero cost to them. As of last year, the net income raised through B4B events has totaled $831,900, and each auction event continues to grow.
