Logan Wilbanks (Epsilon Zeta Number I), Knight Commander Kay, and U.S. Congressman Steve Womack

On Sunday, October 8, 2017, at the Lake Point Conference Center, Knight Commander Darren S. Kay (Alpha Eta–Westminster ’88) re-issued the Epsilon Zeta Charter to the gentlemen of the Arkansas Tech University Provisional Chapter. The ceremony and banquet was well attended by alumni including U.S. Congressman Stephen A. Womack (AR-3), the founding Number I of Epsilon Zeta Chapter.

The Arkansas Tech provisional chapter received its provisional certificate in March of  2016, and since then the chapter has grown to 37 members and achieved a 2.998 GPA in the spring semester of 2017.

The ATU Provisional Chapter has worked with local businesses and hosted events to raise money in support of the Muscular Dystrophy Association, including a 3-on-3 basketball tournament on campus. The chapter continues to strive towards serving the community with both their time and monetary donations. The men have accumulated more than 300 community service hours, participating in events such as Pop Up El Paso, Green and Gold Give Back, and Phi Mu’s Animal Shelter Drive.

The chapter is involved on campus and members actively participate in fraternity and sorority philanthropy and community service events. Leadership positions on campus held by members include Student Orientation Leader, Housing and Residence Life Resident Assistant, and the Presidential Leadership Cabinet (Tech Ambassadors). Members are also actively involved in the Health, Physical Education & Wellness Club, University Choir, ATU Nursing Club, Pre-Med Club, and the Chemistry Club. All members are actively involved in at least one student organization outside of KA.

Members of the Arkansas Tech University Provisional Chapter were initiated into Kappa Alpha Order on Saturday, October 7th at the United Pentecostal Church by the Zeta Tau Chapter at the Austin Peay State University and the Beta Alpha Chapter at Missouri University of Science & Technology.
