Honoring Our Nation’s Heroes

On Saturday, December 16th, several brothers of the Delta Tau Chapter at Francis Marion University volunteered in the annual Wreaths Across America event at the historic Florence National Cemetery.
Thousands of wreaths were placed at the graves of our nation’s heroes by volunteers, including veteran’s families and active brothers Tyler Moore ’17, Joshua Rodgers ’16, and Benton Wilson ’17.
Volunteers were encouraged to say aloud the name of the veteran, while taking a moment to thank them for their service to our country. It’s a small act that went a long way toward keeping the memory of our veterans alive.
“We are not here to decorate graves. We’re here to remember not their deaths, but their lives,” said Karen Worcester, Executive Director of Wreaths Across America.
The mission of Wreaths Across America includes:
REMEMBER our fallen U.S. veterans.
HONOR those who serve.
TEACH your children the value of freedom.
Organizers included the Grand Strand Blue Star Mothers.
