Mercer Chapter Update – Winter 2019

As of November 8, 2018, Kappa Chapter has enjoyed being a part of Mercer University for 145 years full of excellence. So far this year, we have many brothers serving in leadership positions including, but not limited to, IFC Executive Board, Peer Advisor, and ROTC Battalion Commander. We also have brothers participating in Delta Sigma Pi, Phi Alpha Theta, University Honors Program, Pre-Law Society, tutor at the Academic Resource Center, Vietnamese Student Association, ROTC, Model Arab League, and two brothers are also spearheading efforts to bring Model United Nations back to Mercer.

This past fall, we inducted 10 new members and all 10 were initiated on October 26, 2018. We enjoyed watching these new members grow into the fine southern gentlemen they are today. This spring, we inducted 1 new member, and the chapter could not be more pleased with his level of dedication and willingness to learn about the history of our Order.

This semester, we celebrated Convivium on January 18, 2018 at the Sidney Lanier Cottage in Macon, Georgia. We plan to host an Alumni golf tournament later this spring to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Our chapter is taking on a challenge in 2019, where we will raise $16,000 for the Independence Fund, which donates all-terrain wheelchairs to wounded veterans that still want to enjoy the freedoms nature has to offer them.

Kappa Chapter is excited for what 2019 has to offer, and we can’t wait to capitalize on the opportunities 2019 presents us. Excelsior!
