Transylvania Chapter Update – Winter 2019
Alpha Theta has had a solid start to the 2018/2019 school year. Alpha Theta initiated 18 members in November, bringing the total membership of the chapter to 45. The chapter participated in the 27th annual Crimson Christmas event held on campus in December benefiting children in the Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bluegrass program. Paul Stickel ‘16 has moved up in rank from IFC Vice President of Recruitment to IFC President for the 2019-2020 school year. Recently, All nine chapter officers attended Province Council hosted by Southern Illinois University Carbondale in January. The chapter was awarded its third consecutive Ammen Award for Chapter Excellence. The chapter also received additional recognition for Chapter Growth, Project Outreach and Social Media Communications. In January, Alpha Theta held a school record breaking blood drive where 177 lives were saved. Alpha Theta’s convivium will be held on February 16th in Knoxville, Tennessee. The chapter continues to have a strong presence on Transy athletic teams with 24 lacrosse players, 5 basketball players, 4 soccer players, and 1 track team member.
