He advises clients regarding the transition of wealth to beneficiaries and helps clients achieve their personal, business, and charitable planning objectives. He also advises clients regarding gift, estate, and generation-skipping transfer taxes and tax returns.

Since 2010, Columbia Business Monthly has honored Midlands attorneys by publishing our Legal Elite feature. This year we highlight the top vote-getters in 24 categories—all voted on by area lawyers—and provide a brief list of other attorneys who were recognized by their peers.

Legal Elite is the only award program in the region that gives every active attorney the opportunity to participate. The methodology is that while attorneys are allowed to nominate members of their own firm, for each in-firm nomination made, there had to be an out-of-firm nomination.

The lists are determined solely by lawyers’ votes from our legal elite nomination form online; places on the list are not for sale. Ballots were tallied and names verified by Columbia Business Monthly staff. Attorneys are not allowed to vote for themselves.
