Kappa Alpha Order

Modern Gentlemen

McNeese State Celebrates 50 Years

Our attendance was over 250 people on Friday night at the KA house, and over 300 people Saturday night at the Country Club. The fact that we had all the Charter members in town and honoring them was probably the highlight of the weekend for me. Reconnecting so many alumni was a daunting task for our Committee but it was so worth it when we realized how much everyone enjoyed themselves. I must say that even the Knight Commander admitted he had never seen a KA anniversary of this magnitude. Delta Xi has definitely raised the bar for such events in the future. I know I will never forget it. The Active Chapter was overwhelmed with how many alumni brothers they had and how we could party with the best of them. Also, the Silent Auction was an extreme success.

Space does not permit me to list the names of all the people who made this happen. I want to thank the 50th Committee for all of their hard work, and thanks to all of you who were there and made the weekend so special. There is no brotherhood quite like our Kappa Alpha Order.

If you were there, I hope you enjoyed it. If you were unable to attend for some reason, hang on, there is more to come. Obviously, we can’t have another 50th anniversary, but part of the mission of the KA Alumni Association is to keep our alumni connected by having multiple events. We are still in the early planning stages for having another major event later this year (probably a little more casual this time). We are also planning some smaller events—-some with wives and significant others, and some brotherhood nights with just the guys. We also plan to have another Convivium celebration next January.

Stay tuned for more details.

Fraternally yours,
Dennis Donald
