Eastern Kentucky Alumnus Named First Executive Director of Kentucky Financial Empowerment Commission
Joshua T. Barrett (Delta Mu–Eastern Kentucky ’12) was named the first executive director of the Kentucky Financial Empowerment Commission.
The newly formed Commission, which was recently created by the Kentucky Financial Empowerment Bill, will evaluate, develop plans, and provide support to educators to improve the financial literacy of Kentuckians.
“I am excited to join the Kentucky Financial Empowerment Commission and lead the mission to bring critical financial tools to every corner of Kentucky,” Joshua said. Every Kentuckian should have the confidence and knowledge to budget, save, and plan for the future. I am excited to work with the Commission members, who each have a passion for financial literacy and wellness.”
Joshua most recently served as a legislative liaison for the Kentucky Personnel Cabinet and was a real estate and residential construction business owner prior to that.
