Director of Development
The Director of Development will perform, but is not limited to, the following duties:
- Assist the KAOEF Executive Vice President and KAOEF Chief Development Officer (CDO) in all areas of operation for the KAOEF as needed.
- Cultivate and solicit both mid-level gifts (primarily for the Crimson and Gold Society program) and major gifts in the geographic areas assigned. Also includes donations of liquid assets, transfers of securities, and planned gifts.
- Conduct prospect research for mid-level and major gift prospects.
- Assist with the annual management and fundraising for the KAOEF Bid for Brotherhood (B4B) auction.
- Assist with the fundraising for all national leadership educational programming.
- Assist donors with the creation of both chapter and scholarship endowment accounts.
- Assist with the promotion and fundraising of the annual KA Day of Giving.
- Assist the Executive Vice President and the CDO with the creation of publications, to include Annual Report, brochures and all other marketing pieces as needed.
- Assist with Trustee relations, recruitment and new board member education;
- Assist with the development and preparation of Trustee meetings.
The Director of Development shall report to the Chief Development Officer and/or Executive Vice President and carry out all of the duties above in accordance with the KAOEF Bylaws.
Qualifications:
- This position is a remote-work position which requires extensive travel and periodic trips to the National Administrative Office at Mulberry Hill in Lexington, Va.
- Candidate must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Preference is for the candidate to be a member of Kappa Alpha Order.
- Preference is for the candidate to have fundraising experience.
