Georgetown Alumnus Elected to Board of Trustees

Dave Baker (Beta Delta–Georgetown ’79) is serving for the first time on the Georgetown College Board of Trustees. In his more than 40 years at WKYT in Lexington, he has served as a sports anchor, reporter, account executive, and now Special Projects Coordinator. He is also one of the hosts of Everyday Kentucky and the daily “Afternoon Buzz” on WKYT+. He has been a member of the UK Sports Network for 37 years and has broadcast events for the Southeastern Conference for more than two decades. Dave was inducted into the Kentucky Broadcasters Hall of Fame in 2022.

Dave has spoken at a number of Conviviums and has remained actively involved with Beta Delta. He was the featured speaker at the 2012 Emerging Leaders Academy and the 2013 Number I Leadership Institute. He serves as the preceptor of the Candler Court of Honor and was a previous Loyal Order spokesman. He is a recipient of the  Knight Commander’s Accolade in 2013. (Pictured below.)

He is very active in his community and currently serves on the Foundation Board of Baptist Health Lexington. Dave lives in Frankfort, Kentucky.
