On Saturday, April 18, 2026, Knight Commander James M. Schmuck (Alpha Eta–Westminster ’83) re-issued the Pi Charter to the gentlemen of the University of Tennessee Provisional Chapter. The ceremony and banquet were held at the Marriott Knoxville Downtown in Knoxville, Tennessee, and were well attended by alumni, parents, staff, and volunteers.
At the banquet Executive Director Larry Stanton Wiese (Gamma Omega–Midwestern State ’87) welcomed all attendees and gave opening remarks, Strategic Growth Manager C. Andrew Sawyer (Beta Eta–Oklahoma ’23) led the pledge of allegiance to the U.S. Flag, and Pi Chapter Alumnus Advisor Travis M. Lampley (Pi–Tennessee ’97) gave the invocation. Following dinner, Assistant Vice Chancellor & Dean of Students Dr. Byron Hughes gave an address from the University, and was also presented the Award for Fraternal Excellence. Following this, Number I Zackrey S. Duncan (Pi–Tennessee ’26) gave an address from the Chapter. Senior Councilor L. Blair Bailey (Gamma Eta–Florida State ’88) installed the chapter officers with Feller Province Commander Nicholas S. Palmer (Delta Lambda–Middle Tennessee State ’04) presented them with their officer jewels. Knight Commander Schmuck gave his remarks, provided a State of the Order, and presented the Pi Charter. To conclude the evening, Province Commander Palmer provided the benediction.
The Chapter Members were initiated on Friday, April 11 & Sunday, April 12 in the HSS Building on the University of Tennessee’s campus by members of the Zeta Theta Chapter at James Madison University and the Zeta Tau Chapter at Austin Peay State University.
