Missouri S&T Recognized for Outstanding Scholastic Program by University

During the Greek Awards Banquet at Missouri University of  Science and Technology on November 11, 2022, the Beta Alpha Chapter of Kappa Alpha Order was recognized for Outstanding Scholastic Program. The Chapter achieved a 3.340 overall grade point average in the fall of 2020 and a 3.571 in the spring of 2021.

“At the Beta Alpha Chapter of Kappa Alpha Order, we strive for academic excellence day in and day out,” Number III and Scholarship Chair Brendan Schanuel said. “A few years ago, we started an academic system that awards points to each member based off their grades. The gentleman of our chapter are then divided into teams where those point earned are averaged and allow for the most successful teams to be rewarded at the end of each semester. What makes this academic program so special is that the system allows the academic chairman to see every member’s grades throughout the entirety of the semester. This allows us all to work together and help guys that maybe didn’t have a great first round of tests or are struggling in one of the harder classes. Through this system, we have obtained the highest fraternity GPA on campus 3 consecutive semesters and are in place to continue this excellence. For our number III, this system allows them to see the grades, go into those classes and see what that individual might be struggling with, and allows them to help that individual in ways that might not be possible without this system.”
