R. Scott Heath

Scott Heath earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Accounting from Wofford in 1980.
He began his career with the Portman Companies in Atlanta before returning to Spartanburg, South Carolina, where he served as Chief Financial Officer of a privately owned textile company. In 2006, he joined Morgan Stanley, where he advised clients for nine years. He later moved his practice to Wells Fargo Advisors and in August 2018 became Branch Manager of the Spartanburg office.
Scott has served as an advisor to Delta Chapter and was first nominated to the Kappa Alpha Order Educational Foundation Board in 2018. He has chaired the Foundation’s Investment Committee, served as Treasurer, and been a member of the Executive Committee. In 2022, he was elected Chairman of the KAOEF and is currently serving his fourth year in that role.
Among a number of accomplishments during his tenure as Chairman, the Foundation has maintained more than 1,000 members in the Crimson & Gold Society, expanded the 1865 Trust planned giving society, and increased scholarship support for undergraduate members, including a record $178,000 available for the upcoming academic year.
Scott serves on the Board of Governors of the Piedmont Club in Spartanburg and on the Spartanburg County Commission for Higher Education.
Scott and his wife, Pamela, live in Spartanburg. Their son, Mercer (Rho–South Carolina ’13) works with him at Wells Fargo Advisors. Mercer is a 2017 recipient of the Knight Commander’s Medal. Their daughter, Brooksie, is married to David Berry (Tau–Wake Forest ’04), and they have two daughters.
