David T. Martineau V

Councilor

Alpha Upsilon–Mississippi ’88

David T. Martineau V was initiated in 1988 by the Alpha Upsilon Chapter at the University of Mississippi, where he served as both Number IX and Number I before graduating in 1991 with a bachelor’s degree in Geological Engineering. He later earned a master’s degree in Geological Sciences from the University of Texas.

David is currently President of Martineau Petroleum, Inc., leading a multifaceted operation spanning Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi, with both conventional and unconventional oil and gas ventures. His business leadership has also been recognized with the Engineer of Distinction Award, the highest honor bestowed by the University of Mississippi’s School of Engineering in April 2024.

In 2000, he served as Vice President of the Dallas Alumni Chapter and later as President in 2003. When Beta Lambda Chapter at SMU faced critical challenges, he accepted the call to serve as Alumnus Adviser, guiding the chapter through a difficult period. His strong leadership in that role led then–Knight Commander William Dreyer to appoint him Province Commander of the Henry J. Mikell Province, a position he held until his election to the Executive Council in 2019.

David was first elected as a Councilor in 2019 during the 78th Convention in New Orleans, Louisiana, and serves in that capacity today. He is a member of both the Duncan and Irwin Courts of Honor and serves on the Board of Directors of the Fraternity Housing Corporation.

David is also a member of the Crimson & Gold Society, recognized for his generous and consistent support of the Kappa Alpha Order Educational Foundation. He lives in Austin, Texas, with his wife Ali and their daughters, Caroline and Katie.
