Dr. Mark D. Hale

Mark earned his Bachelor of Arts and Sciences degree in Emergency Administration and Planning from the University of North Texas in 1992. After working as an Admissions Counselor and the Director of Student Activities at Lon Morris College, he returned to school to earn his Masters of Education in Higher Education from Dallas Baptist University in 1998. While working as the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students at Dallas Baptist University, Mark also began the process of earning his Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from Dallas Baptist University, which he finished in 2015.

Amidst earning his Ed.D., Mark began working as the Assistant Provost of the Dallas Baptist University in 2013, which he continues to serve as today. In addition to his duties as Assistant Provost, he also serves the university as an Assistant Professor teaching graduate level courses in Higher Education Administration. Mark serves the university as the Director of Hybrid Communication and the Chief Diversity Officer as well.

Mark is an active member of many associations, committees, and foundations on the campus of Dallas Baptist University and several on a local and national level as well. These organizations include the American College Personnel Association, The Association on Higher Education And Disability in Texas, and the Diversity and Inclusion Committee, playing a prominent role in these organizations among many others.

Mark was initiated into Kappa Alpha Order in 1990 by the Gamma Lambda Chapter. He has served as Alumnus Advisor for the Gamma Lambda Chapter and Deputy Province Commander for Academic Affairs for both Mikell and Walsh Provinces. In addition, he has attending the Number I’s Leadership Institute multiple times as a facilitator, and he has supported the Kappa alpha Order Educational Foundation as a Forever KA participant.
