The Sigma Alpha Commission is a board of alumni of Kappa Alpha Order, from any chapter/commission, who are appointed by the Knight Commander (national president). The board exists to elect new men to join Kappa Alpha Order who are graduating from, have graduated from, or work at the United States Military Academy. There is no active chapter at the Academy; rather the Order is honored to have the opportunity to initiate graduates into our ranks. This process is similar to the 100-year old tradition with our Beta Commission for graduates of Virginia Military Institute and the Theta Commission for graduates of The Citadel.

Formally authorized by 38th Knight Commander J. Michael Duncan on May 6, 2011.
