During the 79th Convention and Brotherhood Weekend held July 29–31, 2021, at The Arizona Biltmore in Phoenix, Arizona, Marc Stine was presented with the Order’s Accolade for Interfraternal Service. The award recognizes individuals who have demonstrated outstanding service to the Greek or fraternity community. The award is granted by a majority vote of the Executive Council.
Marc Stine has faithfully served as the Independent Greek Advocate for IFC on The Hill at the University of Colorado, Boulder for 16 years.
Marc D. Stine received his undergraduate degrees from the University of Missouri where he was initiated into Zeta Beta Tau. He also earned an M.A. in Educational Administration and an Ed.S. in Public Leadership. He has done graduate and post-graduate work at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, Denver University, and the University of Colorado.
In a career of almost 35 years, Marc was a high school teacher, coach and director, assistant principal, assistant superintendent, and high school principal. Since 1979, he was in three school districts on the Front Range of Colorado. In 1992 he served as a special educational consultant to Colorado Governor Roy Romer. He was the NASSP State Principal of the Year in 1995. Marc retired from public education in 2003, having spent the last 17 years of his career as a school administrator in the Aurora Public Schools, with the final 11 years as the principal of Rangeview High School.
After leaving secondary education, Marc worked as a consultant to a variety of organizations through his own consulting firm in educational planning, leadership development, school safety, student program development and evaluation, personnel issues, and related topics.
In 2005 Marc became the independent Greek Advocate at the University of Colorado in Boulder. In that capacity, he was the advisor and mentor to the Undergraduate Interfraternity Council at CU-Boulder, Inc., (also known as “The IFC on The Hill”) and its 22 member fraternities with a total membership of over 2,000 undergraduate brothers.
Marc was instrumental in KA’s return to the University of Colorado, Boulder, and has been supportive of KA since day one of the expansion. Marc’s commitment to the fraternity experience at Colorado has ensured its long-term success as the model-independent fraternity community in the country. Marc is a fierce advocate for fraternities and has proven that the fraternity experience is resilient and adaptable in an ever-changing higher education environment.
