Ole Miss Senior Inducted into Prestigious Hall of Fame

On April 9, 2021, Harrison McKinnis (Alpha Upsilon–Mississippi ’17) was inducted into the University of Mississippi’s Hall of Fame as part of the 2020-21 class of just ten seniors. One of the most prestigious honors an Ole Miss student can receive, the inductees were selected by a committee based on outstanding contributions in all aspects of campus life in accordance with policy developed by the Associated Student Body.

McKinnis is a chemical engineering major. Through his academic pursuits in the Center for Manufacturing Excellence, he became familiar with kaizen, a Japanese term that evokes “continuous improvement,” and he has worked to apply that philosophy in all aspects of college life. McKinnis held leadership roles with RebelTHON, the Interfraternity Council and the Columns Society while also serving as an orientation leader and Ole Miss Ambassador. Capitalizing on the rich array of opportunities UM offers, he sought to diversify his experiences to graduate as a well-rounded individual.

“These 10 students were humble and gracious in their acceptance, which reinforced that the committee made great decisions in accepting them,” assistant vice chancellor for student affairs and dean of students Brian Marsh said. “These are students who excel academically, serve their communities and take on leadership roles – not to add another line to their resumes, but to make a difference in the world around them.”
