On Thursday, July 31, at the 81st Convention in Roanoke, Virginia, The Northeast Arkansas Alumni Chapter was recognized as the William E. Forester Alumni Chapter of the Year. Morris “Hoppy” Hoffman (Delta Eta–Arkansas State ’90) and Jason Smith (Delta Eta–Arkansas State ’94) were present to receive the award from then Knight Commander, King V. Aiken, Jr. The William E. Forester Alumni Chapter Award is given in memory of William E. Forester, Former Executive Director, Executive Vice President, and Archivist, to recognize the most outstanding Alumni Chapter.
Organized in 1973, the Northeast Arkansas Alumni Chapter continues to strengthen KA through regular events and strong alumni engagement. In addition to Homecoming gatherings, tailgates, and annual traditions like the Crawfish Boil, they recently launched new “Knightly Gatherings” and a spring Oaklawn event that grew from 18 participants in 2024 to 108 in 2025. The chapter also supports recruitment, Delta Eta–Arkansas State activities, and established the Steve McFerron Memorial Scholarship in 2024.
With growing membership and a new five-year plan, the Northeast Arkansas Alumni Chapter exemplifies excellence in alumni leadership and support.
