Westminster Alumnus Named General Manager of Jacksonville Jaguars

James M. Gladstone (Alpha Eta–Westminster ’10) was recently named as the General Manager of the Jacksonville Jaguars.

“It’s my honor to introduce James Gladstone as the new general manager of the Jacksonville Jaguars,” Jaguars Owner Shad Khan said in a statement.

With 9 seasons of expereince at the Los Angeles Rams, Gladstone has served as the Rams’ director of scouting strategy for the past three seasons. He was also the Rams’ director of scouting in 2021, the director of scouting strategy from 2019 to 2020, and senior assistant to the general manager/player personnel coordinator from 2016 to 2017.

“James emerged as my choice, and our choice, following a painstaking but energizing interview process that left nothing to doubt,” Khan said.

In his most recent role, Gladstone worked directly with longtime General Manager Les Snead “in strategic planning and execution of day-to-day scouting processes” and was “responsible for scouting current and prospective players and providing frequent analysis on special projects,” according to the Rams.

Before joining the Rams, Gladstone served as the Student Activities Director and football coach at Clayton High School in St. Louis, Missouri. He also previously served as the Media and Literacy Coordinator and football coach at St. John Vianney High School in St. Louis.

Gladstone, a wide receiver for Westminster College, was a two-time captain, was named Athlete of the Year, and was named to the BSN All-American team.  He graduated in 2013 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Education Administration.

He and his wife, Julie, are natives of St. Louis, Missouri, and have one daughter.
