Jesse C. Brown (Gamma Omega – Midwestern State ’14)
National Republican Congressional Committee
Jesse is a junior pursuing a B.S. in Criminal Justice and a minor in Business Administration. He has served as a two-term Number I and Number II of the Gamma Omega Chapter of Kappa Alpha Order. Jesse led Gamma Omega from its initial colonization through its chartering in the fall of 2014. Outside of the chapter room, Jesse has served as a member of the IFC Judicial Board, Crime Stoppers Board, Order of Omega and was appointed by the Governor of Texas, Rick Perry, to the position of student regent on the Board of Regents for Midwestern State University. He has been honored by his peers and received several distinctions including Greek Man of the Year, Sophomore Duke Award, Clark Scholar of the Year, Junior Prince Award, Kappa Alpha Order Larry Robb Leadership Award, and was recently honored by the National Interfraternity Conference (NIC) with the Undergraduate Award of Distinction.
Matthew G. Brownlee (Beta Eta – Oklahoma ’11) Larry Meyers & Associates Matthew is a senior majoring in Political Science at the University of Oklahoma. He is very active in his chapter, having served in many executive positions, and is now serving as the Number IX. This semester he was chosen for the Capitol Scholar’s class, which places students in internships in the Oklahoma capitol. He is interning in the Oklahoma House of Representatives Research Office. Matthew studied abroad in Rio de Janiero, Brazil for his spring 2014 semester, where he took courses in Portuguese about Brazilian politics and culture. He is also an Eagle Scout from Troop 20 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
R. Dustin James (Delta Tau – Francis Marion ’10) LS Group and Drucker Lawhon Dustin is a graduating senior majoring in Biology at Francis Marion University. He is currently serving his second term as Student Body President, recently completing his time in office as State Treasurer for South Carolina Student Legislature. Since his initiation, Dustin has served his chapter in multiple capacities, holding the offices of Number III, V, VIII, IX and social chairman, and just finished his term as Number I this past fall. He has also served as both the Greek Council President and Treasurer and is a member of the South Carolina Coalition of Student Body Presidents. Upon graduation, Dustin plans to pursue a degree in business administration and a juris doctorate in law school.
Nicholas A. Loper (Gamma Epsilon – Arizona ’12) Davis & Harmon and Congressman Hudson (NC-R) Nicholas, a junior majoring in Mass Media Communications with a minor in Government and Public Policy, is currently serving his second term as president of Gamma Epsilon chapter of Kappa Alpha Order. In previous semesters he has held other positions in the chapter such as philanthropy chairman, historian and alumni relations as well as being one of the re-founding fathers of Gamma Epsilon. Nicholas is an active member of the Arizona Consulting Club on campus as well as the Elevation Snow and Ski Club. He has also worked as a journalist for the Odyssey Newspaper on the U of A campus and was selected out of all 17 IFC presidents to attend the All Fraternity Leadership and Values Conference as a representative for the University of Arizona. Finally, Nicholas has earned many scholarships for his fraternal perseverance and diligence which include the Gamma Epsilon Annual Scholarship and the IFC Individual Scholarship for leadership for both 2014 and 2015.
Weston Y. Loyd (Theta – Kentucky ’13) Congressman Robert Pittenger (NC-R) Weston is a rising senior at the University of Kentucky pursuing a B.S. in Integrated Strategic Communications. He is the Vice President of Public Relations for the University of Kentucky Interfraternity Council and is a member of the University’s Anti-Hazing Coalition. He has previously served Theta chapter as Chapter Correspondence Chairman. Outside of the classroom, Weston has volunteered for political campaigns across the state and has previous experience working with the U.S. Senate and government contractors for the Department of Energy. Upon graduation, Weston plans to pursue a graduate degree and a career in political communication.

Living in Washington, DC is an extraordinary time, not only that but there are over 3,000 KA’s working and living in the District every Summer. This allows for a plethora of networking opportunities. This years 76th Convention & Sesquicentennial Celebration was also a great success and marks a very important time in our Order’s History. We are now 150 years strong and continue to grow every semester, now with the largest amount of brothers being initiated and the highest GPA in the history of KA. It makes me very proud to be a member of Kappa Alpha Order. Being a member of this organization has taught me many things and I would not be where or who I am today if it were not for KA.
