On July 1, 2026, Altony “Tony” Lee III (Zeta Pi–Florida Gulf Coast ’17) was named Chair of the Florida State University Alumni Association’s National Board of Directors.
A first-generation college graduate, Lee earned his bachelor’s degree in political science from Florida State University before completing a master’s degree in global and strategic communications from Florida International University and a Doctor of Education in applied learning sciences from the University of Miami.
Professionally, Lee serves as Associate Vice Chancellor of Public Affairs for the State University System of Florida and its Board of Governors. He also serves as Interim Chief of Staff at Florida A&M University, where he works closely with university leadership and the Board of Trustees to advance the institution’s strategic priorities.
Throughout more than two decades in higher education, Lee has built public and private partnerships, raised millions of dollars in philanthropic support, and served institutions across Florida, including Florida State University, Florida Atlantic University, and Florida Gulf Coast University. His election as chair reflects his longstanding commitment to higher education, alumni engagement, and servant leadership.
